When you need an alignment
Get an alignment checked if the car pulls to one side, the steering wheel is off center when you are driving straight, the tires are wearing more on one edge, or you just installed new tires. Hitting a deep pothole or curb is also a common reason.
Why it matters
Poor alignment wears out a good set of tires early and makes the car work harder to hold its lane. Correcting it protects the money you already spent on tires.
